What is the status and what are the provisions and plans for providing the three 14-day rainfall probability forecasts for use by small-scale (and other) farmers ? Can they be received on request (and payment) at frequent intervals,( i.e twice weekly) by SMS; and completed with agriculture management recommendations, such as already done by FIRCOP (SASAS 2008) ?

The forecasts for Winelands (probably other areas too) are always outdated. I don't think it can be used. If the forecast for two days ago is still sitting there, no changes were being implemented for today or tomorrow (so the "current" info is wrong). Furthermore, it's user unfriendly, because PDF files must be download. And it does not say what day of week it is. Here's much room for improvement, but my guess is nothing will be done to change this.

I just want to know will there in the future (preferably, near future) be an agricultural forecast for more regions than just the Cape Province? In Limpopo we also need to know about rain, fire, and droughts. Please?

What about three month long term forecasts? How do we get these for KZN?

Sadly, being a proud South African and long time user of this site - it is now so full of unnecessary graphics, advertisements and other rubbish which some "clever" designer considers fashionably necessary rather than concentrating on critical, accurate basic information in a clear and simple format - that we now exclusively use www.yr.no as our source of weather info. It provides a location specific forecast (albeit computer generated but nevertheless pretty accurate) and a great deal more up to date than Weathersa. It's hourly weather is perfect for planning work execution over the next two days. It is simply laid out and printer friendly. Would strongly suggest that Weathersa takes a long hard look at what they are trying to achieve. Regret that you have lost a previously loyal user.
